Its always important to have pictures of your products. Whether introducing something new or reminding people of what you carry, having great images on hand give you the opportunity to promote your company in ads, Facebook campaigns or blogs. It also gives a company the opportunity to educate the public.
Product photo shoots can be done in-studio or on location depending on the "story" you want to tell. If its a product for a company's "shopping cart", than a studio shot with the item floated on a plain background is typically what is needed. Sometimes a picture of a product in its natural setting though, adds lots or richness and depth, making it more desirable. This is usually the case with boutiques as the following examples show.
