The Royal Lipizzan Stallions
Shot in Myakka City, Fl. on the 200 acre ranch owned by Gabriella Herrmann, for the February edition of Sarasota Magazine. Legendary for their "airs above the ground," spectacular leaps and manoevers originally mean't to terrorize attacking foot soldiers, the Lippizans have never numbered more than a few hundred, and the breed was almost lost during WWII. They were saved from the advancing Russian Army by Gen. George Patton and and assisted by their trainer, Col. Ottomar Herrmann.
